She is also highly respected in many other fields including civil/contract law, public and administrative law. She has appeared before most New Zealand courts, various tribunals, commissions of inquiry, parliamentary select committees and professional bodies. Her clients include government entities, major commercial enterprises, employers and employees, professional associations, private individuals, beneficiaries and mental health consumers. Barbara has vast experience as a skilled negotiator and mediator. She believes that the key skills of a good litigator are negotiation, mediation and advocacy.
Barbara’s approach to problem resolution is flexible and always appropriate to the matter at hand. Wherever possible she prefers to resolve issues before they reach court. Barbara knows the importance of keeping abreast of developments in the law.
